A Range of Opportunities Are Available

Temporary and seasonal tasks are readily available at most state parks and entertainment locations, with varying periods of employment to include more chances during our peak season. A variety of chances are available, including park attendants, lifeguards, workplace assistants, naturalists, maintenance employees, and grounds keepers.

All seasonal positions at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area are noted below. Not all of them are currently open for working with. Please examine the top of the park’s websites for a green alert that lists which task applications are presently being accepted by park staff. If there is no green alert, that implies the park has no jobs; visit our general Jobs page to find presently open positions at other state parks.

General Utility Worker

General Utility Worker

General Utility Workers work seasonally up to 40 hours per week, with vacation and weekend work required. The positions normally begin from March-April and go through September-October.

This position is accountable for park cleanup and daily maintenance in particular areas, which will be designated to each worker.

This includes cleansing bathrooms, picnic locations, camping areas, parking area, shelters, and nature routes. GUWs may also run mowers, weedeaters and blowers.

Candidates must be at least 16 years of ages; nevertheless, just those 18 years or older and have a legitimate chauffeur’s license can run state cars and equipment.

Park Attendant/ Box Office Operator

Park Attendants/ Box office Operators work seasonally up to 40 hours each week, with vacation and weekend work required. The positions generally start from March-April and run through September-October.

The pay is $15 per hour.

This position is primarily accountable for gathering costs from all who enter the park’s recreational facilities, and for registering campers in campgrounds. General park clean-up may be required.

Good communication abilities are required. Candidates with computer system skills are preferred. Park Attendants/ Ticket Booth Operators will require to learn and use the reservations system efficiently.

Visitor Center Office Attendant

Job Information

The Visitor Center Office Attendant works 16 hours a week throughout weekends and turning shifts, as needed. This position will be needed to work weekends and/or weekdays.

The pay is $17 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be helping the park’s office assistants by being the first contact to welcome park visitors and providing them with info and support. Duties include: answering the telephone and e-mails, utilizing a reservations system to book camping and centers, taking messages, performing clerical responsibilities like typing letters and fliers, and opening/closing the visitor center on the days they are working. They will also operate two-way radios and manage money.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should know the area surrounding the park.
